Anything new…

Rant
Benjamin is ranting on about the need to combine business thinking and interaction design/usability. I totally agree with him offcourse, but also feel the urge to say. And so what’s new?
Product design has for ages been like that, store design likewise, etc.
The only thing that’s new is that it’s digital. Period.
And the bloody interaction/experience/information/etc. design title is nothing new -once again old stuff in a digital context.
So using business goals when designing how to buy domain names or how to order organic groceries is just digital work building on the shoulders of hundreds of years of work.
That it still is news for bloody business schools punks in management is just a testiment to the education system we have today.
Yeah, and merry christmas too…
